Hi, let me tell you a little about myself and my work.
I trained as a traditional animator using hand drawn techniques. I was hand picked from college to create artwork for a feature film in Oslo and subsequently worked on TV animation in Dublin. This was a time when the use of computers in art and animation was increasing so I adapted to the changing media, moved to the U.K. and began working in the games industry as an environment artist. I ended up working on some of the world's biggest games such as Grand Theft Auto IV and Grand Theft Auto V and some games in the Driver franchise.
After 12 years helping make video games I decided to try something different and follow a more traditional form of art. I love using ink pens and much of my colour work is done with ink coloring pencils althought I use them more like watercolours.
Some of my main inspirations are the endless forms most beautiful in nature, I find insects particularly fascinating, at times monstrous and at times beautiful, sometimes a bit of both. I also love comic book art and have sought to combine these passions to fuel my work.
I also previously worked on creating characters and in the games industry, environments, so I can take a multi-disciplined approach to my work.
Get in touch via my contacts page if you would like to ask me a question or have an idea you'd like to run by me. I'm available for commissions for anything from pet portraits to blockbuster film posters involving one or more superheroes.
